I am a recent widow and know nothing about plants, lawns, etc. The owner of ALPHA FOCALPOINT LANDSCAPING took advantage of this. He came out to give me an estimate to put some plants around the front of my house ande plant two 10 ft Oak trees. The original quote was $4,000.00. I wanted an itemized quote but he came over instead with three or four workers and all the plants to get started. We had an agreement for so many plants. He kept adding money to his bill, like the lights to go around and highlight the plants. That was suppose to be included in his original quote of $4,000.00. He said that I was mistaken and the lights would be $600.00 more but when he started it had changed to $800.00. So for now almost $5,000.00, I got about six small rose bushes (some new type that looks more like pnsies than roses) maybe 4 more small plants to start a hedge on one wall, three other nice plants and two ten ft Oak trees which are suppose to be fast growing. I asked him again for an itemized list of the plants but he said if he gave me that, that he would have to charge me sales tax! I did find out that he charged me $1,500 for each of the oak trees. Two of the other plants are already dead after just 2 or 3 months. The $800.00 lights exit of two small spot lights and only three regular lights. You could barely see them. I had to spend another $500.00 on more plants and lights and find someone else to put them in. Just think twice before using him. I wouldn't do it again and I do intend to report him to the IRS.
